2012 Road Program

The 12 townships' and 4 villages' annual programs include paving, tar & chip work, slurry seal, and crack patching on various township roads and village streets. Funding comes from the township's or village's respective road and street funds. Particular projects are determined in April and approved by the Board of County Commissioners, Boards of Township Trustees and Village Councils. Work usually begins in May or June and is completed by October. Allen County forces do all of the tar & chip work and some of the Hot Mix Pave work. Some of the Hot Mix Pave work is done by private contractor. All Slurry Seal work is done by private contractor.

Future Road Projects Being Planned

Shawnee Road Corridor Improvement - This office is currently evaluating design alternatives for Shawnee Road near Fort Amanda Road. Click here for additional information.

Buckeye Road Reconstruction - This office is trying to procure funding to widen Buckeye Road between McClain Road and S. Dixie Highway. The widening would include three 12 feet lanes of pavement, curb and gutters, and a widened railroad crossing. Construction will begin when funding is procured, possibly in a couple of years.
